The conundrum: What do you do if you have thousands of web pages and download documents organized on a site with three levels of navigation menus and still no one can find what they are looking for? If you’re CMS you write a user manual and direct your visitors to where they should look on the site. The latest of these manuals isĀ An Introduction to the Medicare EHR Incentive Program for Eligible Professionals. CMS is calling this manual a comprehensive tool to “help guide EPs through all of the phases of the Medicare EHR Incentive Program, from eligibility and registration to attestation and payment.”
The 82 page guide is organized in five chapters: the basics, how to participate in the program, meaningful use, attestation, and finally a resource library. The guide can be viewed or downloaded in PDF format and is also interactive. User can click through on outside links as well as move through and around the guide. The page footers also have hot spots for the five chapters so you can quickly navigate and change pages. It comes loaded with screen shots and charts to further explain instructions and concepts.
This guide is a great reference for the true beginner. Now how exactly again do you find this on the CMS website? Check out the Educational Materials on the EHR Incentive Programs site for more tools and resources.
